Have you ever wandered the grocery store aisles and seen something you have never seen? Well, we bought it this time. And decided to look it up, then taste it. 

Say hello to the red pumelo. It is large, and by large I mean almost the size of a childs' head. The rind is a bright green and the inside is pink and white. We looked it up and found out it is similar to a grapefruit. It's very similar, but the flavor is a bit milder than a grapefruit and not as tart tasting. Once we cut it open we discovered a very thick skin and beautiful pink fruit. 

Is it worth the hype? Ahh, maybe, but you get more bang for your buck with the grapefruit. Need a conversation piece at the breakfast table or want to intrigue kids? We would highly recommend this fruit.
